Today we introduce the first video in which you can see how the development of 2D games is with the new Wave Visual Studio 2.0. We have been working very hard on this part for an easy way to integrate both the 3D and 2D development as there is much diversity in our community of developers, existing those who usually develop 3D games but also who develop their games in 2D and even those who want to mix both 2D and 3D as in recent well known Rayman Origins and Rayman Legends.

That is why we wanted to offer an environment in which all these developers feel comfortable. So we have developed completely different handlers. The easy way would have been to develop the 2D projects as if they are in 3D space, but this was cumbersome for developers who prefer development exclusively in 2D.

For example in a 3D environment developers are used to working with 3D vectors (x, y, z) or quaternions to rotate their bodies while a 2D environment would typically work with only one degree of freedom for the rotation specified by a value that typically indicates the Euler rotation in the Z axis of the 2D entities. This simplification makes operations simpler for 2D entities and is what developers expect when they are in a 2D environment. By this we want to attract both 3D developers and pure 2D ones.

We’ll be showing more information soon.

Thanks everyone for your feedback and support

              Hey,

What's the status on WE 2.0? Do you have an estimated release date?

I'm currently evaluating a few .NET game engines, and WaveEngine is the one that looks the most promising.

p.s. I've signed up for the beta

Continuing the line of our latest videos, today we want to present the aids of Wave Engine 2.0 when you need to create and configure 2D and 3D particle systems. Something that previously you could only be done from code, now you can get it with a few click of your mouse. Much faster, more visual, with Wave Editor 2.0 you can create and adjust the particle system parameters very easily. We hope that you enjoy it.

Thanks everyone for your feedback and support

                    Hi everyone,

In this video we want to show how easy it is to create animated entities based on spritesheet with the new Wave Visual Editor 2.0.

Note. All assets used in this demo have been downloaded from the David Hellman official website http://www.davidhellman.net/braidbrie...(Braid game designer)

We’ll be showing more information soon.

                      Hi everyone,

We are happy to announce that WaveEngine 2.0 will be available on September 15th. Our last stable version of WaveEngine (1.4.2) was release in November of 2014 and after that we decided to analyze all the feedback received from our users in the last year to design the future of WaveEngine.

And in August of 2014 we begin working on new Wave Visual Editor 2.0 and January of 2015 we begin working in new engine version. Read complete article

                      Thanks everyone!

                          Wave Engine Team,

So excited about this upcoming release. Everything I've seen so far looks amazing and all in such a short time.
                          Great work!
Not sure if this has been asked explicitly yet, are there any anticipated changes to the EULA we need to start preparing for?

                              Hi everyone,

The registration for Wave Visual Editor 2.0 Private Beta Program is closed now, if you are already registered but don't have access yet, you will love to know that before the end of this month, you will receive an email with instructions on how to try our Wave Visual Editor current version before it is published.

For the more active Betatesters on the Private Beta Program forum channel, we want to recognize their work reserving a space in the About dialog of Wave Visual Editor.

We continue to add all Betatesters that help us in this process between now and the public release version.

Many thanks Wave Engine Team community!
