  • New Visual Editor - Wave Editor 2.0

Finally we're working on the future visual editor of Wave Engine. We also want our community to participate and get involved to create a great tool for every game developer.

Although we are in a very early stage of the development we want to show you the layout design of the future editor.

We are making this project in GTK-Sharp to make it available in Windows, MacOS and Linux. We've already started the layout creation and the Wave Engine and GTK-Sharp integration.

We'll be showing more information soon.

Does this tool also add functions which check whether all the required materials and textures are available?
      That would be awesome!

Do you use docking library or just boxes with splitter?
            Layout can be customized?

                  Yes, I am sorry.

                  It's a good GTKSharp library

Did you even try libraries like:

                    https://github.com/mono/xwt
                    https://github.com/picoe/Eto

They provide cross platform UI stuff.

I don't know Eto, but it seems that looks good. In the other hand we try to start with Xwt but the project is at a very early stage .

Today we show some new Wave Editor 2.0 screenshots. Within these you can see our viewport render with useful helpers like an Axis angles control, or camera view chooser one, and we have added common move, rotate and scale controls to manage entities

                        We'll be showing more information

I hope this time you will make the engine more powerful. please make the engine separate of VS.

New Improvements Done in Visual Wave Editor 2.0

We have worked hard to get scenes built from the Visual editor. These can be serialized in binary or XML files, and later loaded from the code solution.
Moreover, it is possible to create a project from the visual editor, build and run it, everything without the need to open Visual Studio nor Xamarin Studio. This doesn't mean you don't need a C# IDE: if you want to put your hands on the game logic, fell free to use your favorite environment (Visual Studio, Xamarin Studio or MonoDevelop)
